Requiem
You’ve lost about twenty eight people
and that number will keep growing the older you get
Some of them you don’t remember as well as others
Some have been harder than others
But there is one who’s been the hardest
She was young and it’s been almost two years
You miss her so much and you wish there could have been more time
One thing that helps when grieving
Is writing your feelings down and talking about them with friends
Some say it gets easier with time but that doesn’t make sense
Since the older we get the more people we lose
Life’s also hard when you know that you’ve died twice
Even though you don’t remember it you still know that it happened
And you keep living your days the best that you can
You can’t stop thinking about your friend and the others you’ve lost
You think of them all day
Especially your friend who’s been the hardest loss you’ve faced
You wish you could see her and everyone else you’ve lost
You hate that death exists from diseases like cancer
Which killed your friend and some others
You miss them so much and all you want to do is be with them again
You wish they were still here and can’t wait to be together again
